NHS Conferences Won’t LEAD You Astray

From the windy city up north to the shimmering teal architecture of Phoenix, the National Honor Society is gearing up to put on three mind-bending LEAD conferences over the next two months.  Sign up, and you’ll be fist-pumping with your intellectual equals and bookmarking the hottest textbooks in your favorite big-city locale.  But most importantly, you’ll be supplementing your college application with notable experiences.

Worried about squandering away your precious pizza money?  Not to worry: there’s no shortage of qualifications at the LEAD conferences from which you’ll benefit.

You’ll have the opportunity to brainstorm at roundtables with other successful students from across the nation and take in colorful lectures and pep talks from a variety of speakers.  In addition, the conference offers professional development seminars and training programs for NHS and student council officers—as well as small workshops led by your peers.

Though you’ve missed the registration deadline for Washington DC, you can still make the conference in Chicago or Phoenix.

Chicago (February 19-21, 2010)

With a deadline approaching faster than a jaguar on a mountain ridge, the NHS LEAD conference in Chicago will soon be upon us.  Like many things in Chicago, the conference shows great promise, with motivational speakers David Parker and Harriet Turk in addition to numerous small group workshops.

But grease that lightning: you have to register by January 18th.

Phoenix (March 19-21, 2010)

The Phoenix LEAD conference hosts Rhett Laubach and Ted Weise, two high-octane motivational speakers who have no shortage of zeal and realness.  Like the Chi-town conference, the Phoenix version will offer a Sunday of idea exchanges, small group workshops, professional development short sessions, as well as a game of good ol’ cactus toss.

Deadline for registration is February 15th.  Don’t end up on the wrong side of that line.
